Whiskybase.com App is an app that makes the biggest whisky database in the world accessible for iOS users. Information about more than 30.000 whisky and whiskey bottles from hundreds of distilleries together with thousands of ratings and tasting notes all available on your phone and tablet.
With this app you can add your own information to the database too. After that you can easily look up your own collection, wishlist, rates and tasting notes.

What is Whiskybase?
Whiskybase highlights two elements: you as whisky lover and single malt Whisky. Every whisky lover has an opinion about the malt he just drank. At Whiskybase you can leave your opinion in a message or note and compare it with other peoples opinions.
Whiskybase is also the place to show your whisky collection and rate the whiskies you have tasted. By doing so, you can explore the beautiful world of whisky and find interesting new flavours.

All in all, the app is quite nice and is holding tons of data about the whiskies of the world. However, it doesnt seem to be really up to date (quite some whiskies that were put on the market over a year ago are not to be found in the database yet). Also, what really freaks me out is the lack of a search function within a single distillery. Looking for an Ardbeg Uigeadail takes quite some scrolling - whilst looking for a Bruichladdich Octomore might take some time to recognize that Octomore is being treated as a separate distillery. The app for sure was great some years ago when apps and iPhones were brand new - but for today, it seems really week it I wouldnt pay €3.99 for this again.
There are just too many bugs that havent been fixed. Lists are not displayed correctly, logging in does not work from time to time etc. etc.. Additionally, states arent saved when hitting a back button which results in lots and lots of scrolling. In its current state, it is way more comfortable to just use the website. I would not recommend this App even it was free...

Cant see collection if it is in a private list. Stick with the website for now.
App is badly made. Period. Whiskybase is a great website but this app is slow, difficult to navigate, and it doesnt offer anything more than what you can already find at the website. For the price its a complete ripoff. I will never open this app again, it takes too long to do the most simple of tasks. Im sure the team behind Whiskybase is great but they hired the wrong person to build this app. It is dreadful. I consider the purchase a donation.
